Swimmers' Shampoo FAQs
Does this shampoo remove chlorine?
Yes. The amphoteric surfactants (betaine and disodium cocoamphodiacetate) we use are especially effective at neutralizing and removing chlorine residues after swimming. Unlike sulfates, they do this without damaging the scalp's natural barrier
Can I use it after every swimming session?
Yes, and it is designed exactly for that.
If you swim every day, you need to wash your hair every day. By not using sulfates, you can use it every day without damaging your scalp.
Does it also work for saltwater?
Yes. Sea salt also alters the balance of the scalp and dries out the hair. The soothing active ingredients (aloe vera, green tea extract) and gentle surfactants in Scalp Pure Shampoo are just as effective at removing salt as chlorine.
Why does it lather less than my previous shampoo?
Because it does not contain sulfates. Lather is produced by SLS and SLES. A shampoo can clean perfectly well with little lather. In fact, if you see a lot of lather in a shampoo for daily use, it is a sign that it is probably damaging your scalp.
When will I start to notice improvement?
Most swimmers notice less itching and tightness after showering within the first week.
It may take 2 to 4 weeks for your scalp to regulate and return to its natural state of balance.
